Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the only celebrity to have moved from the country to mainstream and then to be a pop icon worldwide. Swift shed the country influences in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin. She revealed that she was one of the most talented singers/songwriters in the generation she was born into. Swift could make the moment personal or harness the moment to benefit. Swift's early hits, especially their neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off the talents of her. However, her album Fearless showcased a writer who was re-discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit and not just in the United States (where it was certified as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia, the U.K. and other countries. Swift's second album, Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this momentum. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. Swift's popularity grew through her three subsequent albums - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within the genre she was a part of. As she cut her style by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, Folklore, and Evermore but she was still at the top. It was a position that was confirmed by re-recordings from her past catalog, as in Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
