Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay was born September 15, 1915 was a native of Ogden Utah. Fawn McCay was born in the city of Ogden, Utah in 1915, and was raised by the Mormon church's founder family. She used her creative writing talents and exceptional expertise in research to compose the brilliant, psycho-historical, biographical work of Joseph Smith. It was published in 45, under the title, "No Man Knows My History". The title was inspired by the title of a sermon that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844. He shocked his hearers with the statement: You do not know me and have not heard my heart. My story is not known to anyone. No one knows my history. Fawn, 29 years old has written. Fawn took over the role of writer from that point on. These documents are not lacking, they just contradict each the other. It is a difficult task to put together these documents by separating the first-hand versions from the third-hand versions and then combining Mormon narratives with non-Mormon ones into a coherent collage. It is both interesting and eye-opening. Such was the task to which Fawn Brodie committed herself professionally. The fruits of her research and writing made her immortalized with world-wide fame: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil's Drive (1959) The Southern Scourge. Thomas Jefferson. A Personal Historical Document (1974) and posthumously Richard Nixon.
