Lee Roy Selmon's existence includes football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. The first family is his youngest of the nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. A second reason was his father was the only of three brothers who played with Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. For the three seasons that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and made three times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988, as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team for the year 1975. He was promoted to the associate director of Athletics at University of South Florida. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
